KetoLens ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account Information: Email address and password when you create an account, or your name and email address when you sign in with Google or Apple.
• Food Photos: Images of meals you upload for AI analysis.
• Food Entries: Meal logs including food names, portion sizes, and timestamps.
• Ketone Measurements: Blood, breath, or urine ketone readings you manually enter.
• User Corrections: Adjustments you make to AI-generated food identifications.

Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers.
• Usage Data: App features used, timestamps, interaction patterns.
• Crash Reports: Error logs and diagnostic data when the app encounters issues.

Information from Third Parties

If you sign in using Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from those providers. We do not collect any other information about you from third parties.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide AI Food Analysis: Process your meal photos using artificial intelligence to identify foods and estimate nutritional content.
• Track Your Progress: Calculate and display your Ketosis Battery score based on your food and ketone entries.
• Improve Our Service: Analyze usage patterns and user corrections to improve AI accuracy.
• Communicate with You: Send important updates about the App or your account.
• Ensure Security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security threats.

AI Processing

Your food photos are processed by one of the following AI vision providers, selected by us at the time of processing:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS) Bedrock with Claude AI (Anthropic), running on AWS servers in the United States.
• Google Gemini via the Google AI API, running on Google servers.

This processing:

• Is used solely to identify foods and estimate nutritional information.
• Does not retain your photos beyond the processing period (see Data Retention below).
• Does not use your photos to train AI models without explicit consent.

Data Retention

• Food Photos: Automatically deleted from our servers after 7 days.
• Food Entries: Retained while your account is active.
• Ketone Measurements: Retained while your account is active.
• Account Information: Retained until you delete your account.
• Usage Analytics: Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers

We use third-party services to operate the App:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS): Cloud hosting, data storage, AI processing (via AWS Bedrock), and user authentication (via Amazon Cognito).
• Google (Gemini API): AI vision processing of meal photos, where selected by us as the active provider.
• Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: Delivery of push notifications to your device.
• Fastmail: Email delivery for account, transactional, and support correspondence.
• Google Sign-In: Authentication (if you choose to sign in with Google).
• Apple Sign-In: Authentication (if you choose to sign in with Apple).

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to:

• Protect our rights, property, or safety.
• Protect the safety of our users or the public.
• Detect, prevent, or address fraud or security issues.

Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your information.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

You can view your food entries and ketone measurements within the App at any time.

Correction

You can edit or correct your food entries and ketone measurements within the App.

Deletion

Opt-Out

• Push notifications through your device settings.
• Analytics collection through App settings (if available).

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers are located. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Request deletion of your personal information.
• Opt out of the "sale" of your personal information (we do not sell personal information).
